Teaching

I maintain a small private studio, teaching primarily out of my home in Oakland, CA.

I specialize in kinesthetic, body-awareness, and movement-based technique informed by deep listening and skilled concentration.

My goal for beginning students is to make sure they're set up to play the cello freely and comfortably from Day 1, while prioritizing a sense of fun and "play" throughout the process. My goal for driven, career-based students is to give them room to grow while pushing them to their limits. With adult students, I help them establish short- and long-term goals, and work with them to actualize those goals.
