This summer Aspen partners with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Longy School of Music of Bard College on a national project that brings young musicians from El Sistema-inspired programs in the Western U.S. to Aspen for a five-day music camp. This is part of a three-year unprecedented initiative to create a unified national platform for El Sistema-inspired programs throughout the United States. It is called the National Take a Stand Festival. The five-day music camp culminates in a free Youth Orchestra of the West concert in the Benedict Music Tent. Click here for more information.
